Is it OK to wear mom jeans if I wear my shirt untucked so that no one can actually see that I’m wearing mom jeans? Or do people see me, know anyway that I’m wearing mom jeans, and then pity me for the sad, pathetic creature I’ve surely become?

I mean, they’re not that high-waisted, but they are definitely higher than I used to wear them.

You see, after carrying Mr. Nate for nine months and gaining 55 pounds in the process, I was left with a slight little belly, something which makes low rise jeans rather uncomfortable. Plus, nobody wants to see a mom bending over to care for her baby and see underwear sticking out the back. I don’t think that’s very mom-like.

So I’m going to wear my comfortable, possible mom jeans, and feel great doing it. Well, maybe not great…actually more like a little embarrassed, hoping no one can tell how high my waistband actually is. But man will I be comfortable!

Ummm...I'm going to have to say No to the mom jeans under any circumstances.

Courtney, you're still young, thin and hip. You have at least 15 years before mom jeans are even an option!

But check out trouser jeans. They tend to be a little higher waisted.

@Cheryl - I asked Matt to look at the jeans I suspect are mom jeans, and he said they weren't, but he's a good husband, and might not tell me even if they were. He can't be trusted with things like this!
