Happy New Year!

by Courtney on January 1, 2009

Ah, 2008…you were very good to us.  We saw the arrival of Baby Nate only 17 days into the New Year.  This was the year we realized how fun, crazy, challenging, exciting, frustrating, and joyous being a parent could be.  Matt had continued success at his job.  We managed to pay our mortgage on time every month thus avoiding foreclosure, which apparently, according to the news, is some sort of minor miracle.  All three of us are healthy and we made it through the year relatively unscathed (unscathed, perhaps, but severely sleep deprived until about July).  But most importantly, we made it through the year together.

We ended the year as a family, no longer just a couple.  Over this year we have grown stronger, and there is now more love in our home than I ever imagined was possible.  I can’t even begin to guess what 2009 has in store for us.

Goodbye, 2008.  Thanks for everything.

Cute family! Congrats on making it (almost) through your first year as a Mommy. It’s incredible how much more love a child can bring into your home isn’t it?

The best way to show understanding of your parents is to become a Parent. It was great to see you during the holidays, if even for such a short time. You are doing a Fabulous job of raising little Nate! He is such a happy little soul and I know that God is looking down on the 3 of you on a daily basis.
