Things have been rockin’ and rollin’ around here. Here’s a little rundown:
- We had the inspection on our house in Austin last week (or was it the week before?), and it went very well.
- We went to Dallas two weekends in a row, and found our new house on the second trip, last weekend. (The house that we thought we had found before didn’t work out. But that is really and truly alright, because from almost the first moment I walked into this home, our new home, it felt like we belonged there.)
- We put an offer in on Saturday afternoon, and after a few negotiations they accepted our offer that evening. Hooray!
- When we made the offer, we made our closing date in less than three weeks, due to our closing here in Austin. So not a lot of time.
- We had our inspection on the Dallas house earlier this week. We couldn’t make it, but my father-in-law and uncle-in-law (am I making up words? I might be. Matt’s uncle, you get it.) very nicely took our places and did the walk-through with the inspector. We are still waiting to hear back from the seller on some needed repairs the inspector found.
- We have also gotten all the mortgage stuff lined up for the new house. We are working with a short time frame, so hopefully all of that gets processed and where it needs to be in time for our closing.
- I’ve decied that it’s a good thing we don’t live closer to the house or I would be calling up our realtor every day asking him to let me in just so I can walk around and think about where everything is going to go and dream up decorating ideas. I’m just so excited!
We still have some packing to do, but luckily we got a lot of that taken care of when we moved stuff to storage right before we put the house on the market. But I think we’ll be ready to go when we close on this house, which is in 12 days!!

You both are very organized and taking things as they come- one step at a time. I know it will all work out perfectly, but I will continue to say a little prayer for your move. Love, Grandma S.
