So we painted our living and family rooms, but I forgot to tell you about the great deal we scored on the paint. We decided to paint the living room the same color that we had painted Nate’s bedroom, which worked out well since we had a gallon of that paint leftover. But we knew we would need another gallon, so I went to Home Depot to pick it up.
Before I ordered the paint I just happened to stop by the Oops paint section where they have the paint that is mismatched or paint that was ordered by customers but then never purchased. And oh my goodness, right there was the exact paint I needed, Behr Warm Caramel in eggshell finish. The exact paint we used in Nate’s room, and thus the exact paint we would need for the living room! It was great! But even better…they had 2 gallons of it!
The fantastic thing about finding this in the Oops section was that instead of paying roughly $27 a gallon for the regular Behr paint, I paid $5 a gallon because it was in the Oops section. They had two gallons of the paint I wanted, and even though I knew I only needed one gallon, I bought them both because it was such a great price, and the paint color is so nice that we could easily use it in another room.
While there I also happened to find two more gallons of a different color Behr paint, both in the same finish. It’s a really pretty, neutral beige color, so I think I’m going to use that to paint either our dining room or our master bedroom.
I was so lucky to not only find the exact color I already had and just needed more of, but then I also found two more gallons of the same color that I can use to paint a different room. And again, only $5 a gallon. So I saved over 75% on all that paint that will be used to paint 2 rooms.
When going to the paint store, stop by their Oops section…they might have just what you need at a deeply discounted price.

First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Many thanks!
